A Colorful Engagement {Mississippi Documentary Photographer}

Spring has always been my favorite season. The whole world morphs into bright greens, reds, yellows and blues. Jesse and John were the perfect couple to encapsulate all that is Spring. Their bright smiles and infectiously fun personalities brought the whole engagement session to life. We made the most of our wonderful Mississippi small town of Clarksdale hitting up locations a Yazoo Pass, downtown and even a buttercup field. Definitely looking forward to capturing more of Jesse & John’s love story at their wedding this fall!

The Getting Ready is the Best Part {Mississippi Documentary Style Event Photographer}

Now my school growing up didn’t have prom. But I hear prom is no small deal. It’s a big deal in fact. It’s a night to dress up. Let loose with friends. And celebrate all that’s been accomplished this year with family and friends. In this instance it didn’t just involve the whole family but the whole town of Jonestown. They all came walking down the street to support these two, Kalunda and David. Kalunda had her dress handmade. David looked extremely suave in his full jacket suit. Together they were dynamite. But even more precious were the in between moments of friends and family coming together and congratulating the couple on the big night. Those were extremely fun moments for me to document. Thank you Kalunda and David for inviting me to your special evening getting ready!

The Lake House

Sometimes I wonder why children seem to always be my main focus in family photo sessions. And then I remember it’s because they are so darn cute! And this fun 1 year old was no exception. Seeing this amazing family, who happen to be dear friends, interact with one another was just a dream. Such an easy time to spend with them and capturing those beautifully subtle moments between one another. It’s what I always look forward to with each family and what I love most about documentary family photography. Thank you Nolands for such a fun afternoon!

John & Prue Turn 1!

What is better than celebrating a one-year-old’s Birthday…..Celebrating 2 one-year-olds!!!! It was so fun seeing family and friends come together for John and Prue.

Neurofibromatosis: A Very Big Word

Neurofibromatosis is a very big word. It’s a very intimidating word. It’s a word that brings to mind scary medical issues that other people must deal with. Not me, especially not my youngest son. Nolan was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis last year.

My boys are my world. I know every mother says that. But it is so true. The best moments of my life are hearing both of them laughing together. Then there are the worst moments….fearing I can’t protect them.
